Bewdley Medical Centre (BMC) is part of the Wyre Forest Health Partnership. We collectively look after 73,000 patients with 28 partners and 22 salaried GPs working across our 5 practices in the Wyre Forest.  Innovative is an overly used word, but we think we are. As a PCN in its own right, we have been able to benefit from the opportunities which the PCN DES brings. We have Mental Health Nurses in our team. We have our own Asthma, Cancer, CKD, Vulnerable Adults, Diabetes and End Of life Care Coordinators. We have a large team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. We have an in-house Physiotherapy team, who triage.  We also have Physician Associates, GPAs and Trainee Nurse Associates within our teams.

We have developed our own Ageing Well Frailty Team. We are piloting a more developed integrated neighbourhood team. We work closely with our Social Prescribers & Lifestyle Advisers for Children & Young Families, and for Adult Well Being Support.

We are well connected to the local training hub, to ensure GP training and support opportunities are maximised. We have a central team which supports the sites with innovative exploitation of computer systems (we use EMIS) and processes, including to reduce the amount of mundane processing around results and letters sent to our GPs. We also have an inhouse IT team to help with the speedy resolution of IT issues.

As an Employer

We have a full time HR Manager who helps ensure we are being the best employer we can be. We offer a supportive appraisal system, mentoring, childcare vouchers, a bike to work scheme, Staff Council, adopted staff ideas are rewarded with Amazon vouchers, staff wellbeing surveys, the inter practice Sports Cup and the legendary Christmas Party.
