With a population of about 19,000, Stourport-on-Severn is a lively Georgian town, set on the banks of the River Severn that was developed with the construction of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in 1771. Nowadays, the riverside is the setting for an exciting range of family entertainment and the venue for many events such as Carnivals, Music Festivals and Heritage Open Days.  Away from the riverside, there is a busy shopping area and a good variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes.

Stourport–on-Severn is located in the Wyre Forest District close to one of the largest remaining ancient woodlands in the country. Nevertheless, it has easy access to the M5 and M42 Motorways as well as only being 12 miles north of the city of Worcester and 20 miles south-west of Birmingham.

York House Medical Centre was first established in the early 1900s and is located in the centre of Stourport-on-Severn close to the River Servern. Since then the practice has expanded, new partners have arrived and the town has grown. The surgery currently has ten GPs serving over 12,500 patients and is the largest doctors' surgery in the town offering a great range of services to the community. Their latest CQC Inspection, in November 2015, identified them as GOOD across all the domains!  Visit for more information.
