With a population of about 19,000, Stourport-on-Severn is a lively Georgian town, set on the banks of the River Severn that was developed with the construction of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in 1771. Nowadays, the riverside is the setting for an exciting range of family entertainment and the venue for many events such as Carnivals, Music Festivals and Heritage Open Days. Away from the riverside, there is a busy shopping area and a good variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes.
Stourport–on-Severn is located in the Wyre Forest District close to one of the largest remaining ancient woodlands in the country. Nevertheless, it has easy access to the M5 and M42 Motorways as well as only being 12 miles north of the city of Worcester and 20 miles south-west of Birmingham.
Stourport Health Centre is at the edge of town in a complex that currently contains the local Fire and the Police Stations. They are currently a four doctors practice with more than 9,000 patients offering a large range of services to the community.
