The largest of the three towns in the District with a population of over 55,000, it is famous for its quality woven carpets and as the birthplace of Sir Rowland Hill, founder of the Penny Post. Kidderminster is the main retail hub of the district with a range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The town centre is the venue for a variety of family-based events during the year including the Carnival in June, the Arts Festival in August as well as various concerts and recitals taken place in the Town Hall.
Kidderminster is located in the Wyre Forest District surrounded by canals, rivers and woodland. It has easy access to the M5 and M42 Motorways as well as only being 14 miles north of the city of Worcester and 20 miles south-west of Birmingham
Kidderminster Medical Centre formed in 2016 by the merger of Forest Glade Medical Centre and Kidderminster Health Centre. The new medical centre opened in August 2016 and is located in the town centre and based in brand new purpose built premises with state-of-the art facilities. It is a large practice with over 13,000 patients and offers a large range of services to their patients.
