The largest of the three towns in the District with a population of over 55,000, it is famous for its quality woven carpets and as the birthplace of Sir Rowland Hill, founder of the Penny Post. Kidderminster is the main retail hub of the district with a range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The town centre is the venue for a variety of family-based events during the year including the Carnival in June, the Arts Festival in August as well as various concerts and recitals taken place in the Town Hall.
Kidderminster is located in the Wyre Forest District surrounded by canals, rivers and woodland. It has easy access to the M5 and M42 Motorways as well as only being 14 miles north of the city of Worcester and 20 miles south-west of Birmingham.
