Once described as “the most perfect small Georgian town in Worcestershire”, Bewdley has a population of approximately 10,000 and is situated on the banks of the River Severn and on the edge of the Wyre Forest. The village has a good choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as plenty of small independent shops, antiques and craft galleries. The town is popular with day trippers and organises a range of events through the year from Duck Races, Carnivals, and Regattas to the famous Bewdley Literature Festival in October.
Bewdley is located in the centre of the Wyre Forest District on the doorstep of one of the largest remaining ancient woodlands in the country. Nevertheless, it has easy access to the M5 and M42 Motorways as well as only being 15 miles north of the city of Worcester and 20 miles south-west of Birmingham.
Bewdley Medical Centre is located at the heart of the village by the River Severn in brand new purpose built premises with state-of-the art facilities which opened to patients in July 2016. It is a large practice with 10 doctors serving more than 15,000 patients and offers a wide range of services to the community.
